In the Wonder Woman 1984 trailer, it's clear that Diana and Minerva are friendly at the beginning of the film, although there's no indication of what might drive them apart. It's an interesting notion that Jenkins is open to pairing up Diana with Cheetah, and with the admission that the filmmaker considered it, fans are now curious how that relationship would've panned out. However, since the sequel emphasizes Steve's return, they wanted to focus on that love story for Diana instead of introducing a brand new relationship with Cheetah.
